High-performance refurbished IT
Our purpose is to ensure technology is used and performed across the whole of its lifetime, to maximise the value and make IT more sustainable.
When it comes to sustainability, in many industries you’ll pay more for making the right choice and might even have to compromise on performance. But, you’ll be pleased to hear, that isn’t the case with refurbished IT. Switching to refurbished tech will save you up to 40% versus the price of a new machine, that’s money you can save and invest elsewhere, or you could up-spec your tech.
As if the saving wasn’t enough, the environmental impact of refurbished IT can’t be ignored. Your decision to switch to refurbished machines will reduce carbon emissions, reduce e-waste, reduce landfill and reduce mining of precious non-renewable resources.
All of this, without compromising on the quality and performance you need. Ready to get shopping? Check out our Bestsellers.
Rethink refurbished IT
The IT industry is one of the biggest contributors of e-waste and landfill around the world. According to the United Nations, more than 50 million tonnes of electronic waste is thrown away each year around the world. We are passionate about educating people and organisations on the sustainable alternative of refurbished IT hardware. We believe Renewed desktops, laptops, tablets, PCs and monitors are the responsible choice to reduce the significant environmental impact of consistently replacing new equipment.
Why? The perception is that IT equipment needs to be upgraded and replaced every 3 years. The reality is that the very latest generation machines are simply not needed to perform the functions most users require. Wouldn’t you rather pay for the spec you need, save up to 40% on the price and make a difference to the planet, rather than just buying a new machine that’s not really what you need?
Is that ‘brand-new, fresh out of the box, peeling the film off’ moment really worth the extra money and the impact on the planet?
Refurbished tech you can rely on
We don’t want refurbished tech to be a well-kept secret anymore, but we also know it might feel like a risk to buy a refurbished machine, instead of new. So, here are the facts about buying refurbished It hardware from Renewed.
When you buy a refurbished computer from Renewed, you’ll receive a 12-month warranty. It’s the same warranty that you’d receive if you bought a new machine, so actually, you’re not taking a risk at all. Our returns rate is less than 1%, meaning we have a lot of very happy customers!
All of our tech is BSI Kitemark Certified. What does that mean? It means, every laptop, PC, tablet and monitor is put through a rigorous, globally recognised refurbishment process of inspection, testing, cleaning, upgrades and repairs, to ensure you receive high-performance, great quality tech.
You’ll save on average 40% versus the price of a new machine, when you buy a Renewed refurbished computer. Depending on the computer and spec you need, that could save you hundreds of pounds. Our technical experts are available to chat to you and to match your needs to the perfect refurbished spec machine.
Refurbished tech is graded so that you know exactly what to expect when you choose your computer. The grade, A - Excellent, or B - Fair, lets you know the quality of the refurbished product you’re buying from a cosmetic standpoint. Essentially, what it will look like; will it have marks, scuffs, scratches or other signs of use and to what extent. If you want to geek out on grading, check out our Grading page.
End-of-life tech recycling
After a number of years, even we have to admit that tech can’t live forever. So when it comes to machines that really are end-of-life, and not just a couple of years old, we take our responsibilities seriously to make sure the impact on the environment is minimised. Once data is securely wiped, in collaboration with our partner Spartan Circular, the machines are stripped.
Motherboards and printed circuit boards (PCBs) are sold for gold. Lithium batteries and chassis are recycled and any working spare parts are sold on our Ebay store. All electrical equipment is handled and disposed of in accordance with the Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2006.
We could go on about refurbished tech all day, but we know you have other things to do. If you want to find out more, or have some questions, have a look at our FAQs - and if you can’t find the answer there, call us on +44 (0) 1428 707900.
